He stands in the crowd and starts to hum along
He knows every tune and the words to every song
And the tears can now be seen for the thing that might have been
And the memories that he holds now seen so long ago

He thinks to himself he'll make it on his own,
But deep down inside hie knows its chance has gone
With a voice that never could and the hands that never would
And the kind of songs that no one ever wants to play

*Now he feels as if his world had disappeared,
Now he feels as if his eyes are filled with tears,
As he turnes away and stumbles through the crowd,
And then he shouts out loud
